1) Elvis Presley Quotes:

"I ain't no saint, but I've tried never to do anything that would hurt my family or offend God...I figure all any kid needs is hope and the feeling he or she belongs. If I could do or say anything that would give some kid that feeling, I would believe I had contributed something to the world."

Lisa Marie Quotes

If people are expecting me to be like my dad they're going to be disappointed. I'm nothing like him. I'm in a completely different category.

2) Elvis Presley & other Legends

"Suspicious Minds" was a song performed most notably by Elvis Presley, and was widely regarded as the single that jumpstarted his career after his successful '68 Comeback Special. It was Elvis's eighteenth number-one single in the United States. Rolling Stone later ranked it #91 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Song

Written by Mark James (who also wrote " Always On My Mind ", which Elvis was to record later), the song was recorded along with at least another two hit singles -- "In the Ghetto" and "Kentucky Rain" -- in the so-called "Memphis sessions" of January 1969. He first performed the song at the Las Vegas Hilton on July 31, 1969, and the 45 rpm single was released in the fall. It reached number one in the United States in the week of November 1 and stayed there for that week. It would be Elvis's final number-one single in the U.S. before his death ("The Wonder Of You" in 1970, "Way Down" in 1977 and a posthumous remixed release of "A Little Less Conversation" in 2002 all hit number one on the British charts, followed by re-issues of several previous chart toppers in 2005).

Notable in this song is a fade out at about 3:22 into the song, which fades out for about 15 seconds before fading back in. This fade out was intentional, as it helped convey a message of relationship in the song.

:: Dear Elvis,

I am only 16, but even though you are past and gone for now I know how much you still mean to everybody. How much you mean to me. I can honestly say that i have heard every scrap of everything you ever recorded. And all of everything that has ever filmed you. And besides the fact that you took the world by storm, it wouldn't have made a difference that you were so beautiful because you were the most talented being to have ever to enter this world. You had a talent that the world abused and took for granted and now it's gone and lost. I am sorry for that.

" Oh, my love, my darling I've hungered for your touch, a long lonely time And time goes by, so slowly and time can do so much Are you, still mine? I need your love, I need your love God speed your love to me"

Forever A Fan,

HELLO Bobbie

It’s always great to hear from the younger fans, thank you for comments on our survey. Elvis was truly amazing, His talent struck the world! Elvis looked stunning in any costume; I also liked him in his jumpsuits from the 70s, very tasteful! He was totally perfect from head to toe. The Younger generations are just as hooked on Elvis as the older fans; it’s really pleasing to hear from younger fans. Elvis Presley’ memory lives on! It’s fantastic to know he is getting the recognition he so rightly deserves. I’m sure you will enjoy your visit to Graceland, I believe the Meditation Gardens, is very peaceful, an experience to be treasured.

4) Favourite Elvis song Lyrics for
“Love Me”

This new feature of our ezine is for karaoke superstars & the fans that just like to sing-along with the King.

Treat me like a fool,
Treat me mean and cruel,
But love me.

Wring my faithful heart,
Tear it all apart,
But love me.

If you ever go,
Darling, I'll be oh so lonely
I'll be sad and blue,
Crying over you, dear only.

I would beg and steal
Just to feel your heart
Beatin' close to mine

Well, if you ever go,
Darling, I'll be oh so lonely
I'll be sad and blue,
Crying over you, dear only.

I would beg and steal
Just to feel your heart
Beatin' close to mine

Well, if you ever go,
Darling, I'll be oh so lonely
Beggin' on knees,
All I ask is please, please love me
Oh yeah

5) Gospel Influences on The KING:

"I ain't no saint, but I've tried never to do anything that would hurt my family or offend God...I figure all any kid needs is hope and the feeling he or she belongs. If I could do or say anything that would give some kid that feeling, I would believe I had contributed something to the world." -Elvis

Elvis Presley was born and raised in the Bible Belt of America and his family attended the First Assembly of God Church whose Pentecostal services always included singing. "When Elvis was just a little fellow, he would slide off my lap, run down the aisle, and scramble up to the platform of the church. He would stand looking up at the choir and try to sing with them" said his mother Gladys.

1946, Elvis asked his parents for a bicycle, but Gladys being very protective of Elvis was afraid he might fall off and hurt himself, and persuaded Elvis to get a guitar instead.

Over the next year, his father Vernon's brother, Johnny Smith and Assembly of Good Pastor Frank Smith, gives him basic guitar lessons. Before long he was listening to the radio, tuning into a variety of music as he tried to pick out melodies.

In 1954 Elvis went to the Mississippi Alabama State Fair. It was there, at the age of ten that Elvis stood on a chair in front of hundreds of people, unaccompanied by music and sang “Old Shep” a sentimental ballad about a boy and his dog. Elvis was awarded Second Prize. It was the very first time in his life he ever got anything for just singing. Elvis learned a simple but important lesson that day. His voice was powerful and singing could make his fantasies come true.

7) Elvis Presley Trivia:

The 2002 Disney animated feature Lilo and Stitch contains more Elvis songs than there are in several movies in which Elvis himself starred. The film's closing sequence also features a montage of photographs, one of which portrays the film's main characters posing before the gates of Graceland. The film also broke several rules related to Elvis in films which included using his photo, shortening his songs for time and dressing up like him. However, the Graceland estate allowed the producers this degree of freedom.

8) Editor’s Notes & Fun Stuff:

Some humour to put a smile on your face!

A student comes to a young professor's office. She glances down the hall, closes his door, and kneels pleadingly.

"I would do anything to pass this exam."

She leans closer to him, flips back her hair, and gazes seductively into his eyes.

"I mean," she whispers, "I would do *anything*."

He returns her gaze.

"Anything?"

"ANYTHING"

His voice softens. "Anything??"

She smiles mischievously, "Anything."

His voice turns to a whisper,

"Would you . . . STUDY?"
