1) Elvis Presley Quotes:

Lisa Marie Quotes

I never not wanted to be a singer. Since I was 3, I knew this was what I wanted to do. Well, I can't say I wanted to do it, but I fantasized and thought about it all the time. I never thought it would actually happen. Lisa Marie Presley

I like Jailhouse Rock and Love Me Tender. The black-and-white films. With music, I tend more toward the '70s stuff because I was at the shows for those, so they bring back memories. Lisa Marie Presley

4) Favourite Elvis song Lyrics for
El Toro

This new feature of our ezine is for karaoke superstars & the fans that just like to sing-along with the King.

LYRIC:

There`s a legend of a famous matador Toro
Who went to meet El Toro
Though he fought as he had never done before
He could not beat, El Toro
The bull El Toro, brought him defeat and pain
And to his sorrow, the matador knew shame
They said time would never heal the many scars
Brought by the great, El Toro
And the bitterness that burned deep in his heart
Caused him to hate, El Toro
The bull El Toro, brought him defeat and pain
And to his sorrow, the matador knew shame
So one night, when no-one was on sight
The matador, went to finish the score
In the lonely fields, beneath the pale moonlight
He fought the bull...and they fought once more
When they found the matador and saw him dying
He`d never see tomorrow
Now they say that on the spot where he was lying
Still walks the proud El Toro
The bull El Toro, brought him defeat and pain
And to his sorrow, the matador knew shame....

5) Priscilla Presley: More Than Just Elvis' Wife

Priscilla Beaulieu Presley was born Priscilla Ann Wagner to James Wagner and Anna Iversen in Brooklyn, New York, on May 24, 1945. When Priscilla's father, a pilot, died after a plane crash, Anna Wagner re-married and Priscilla took on the last name of her stepfather, Paul Beaulieu.

Meeting Elvis Beaulieu was an officer in the U.S. Air Force who moved his family to West Germany when he was stationed there. In 1958, Elvis Presley began his two-year service in the U.S. Army. It was in Wiesbaden in 1959 when a 14-year-old Priscilla met the 24-year-old Elvis. By this time, Priscilla had grown into a stunning beauty.

Elvis was so taken with Priscilla that he persuaded the Beaulieus to allow their daughter to live with Elvis' parents in the U.S. Priscilla, who was 17 at the time, was flown to Memphis with her stepfather to meet with the Presley's. The meeting resulted to a special living and schooling arrangement for the young girl.

Graceland Priscilla moved to Elvis' estate Graceland with Elvis. Much of what is known about her time with Elvis beginning in 1963 comes from her own account and from friends and acquaintances. In spite of their living arrangement, Elvis waited until December 1966 before proposing to Priscilla. They were married on May 1, 1967 in Las Vegas with only their family and a few friends in attendance. Nine months later, Priscilla gave birth to Lisa Marie, their only child.

Elvis' wife Her life as the wife of the famous Elvis Presley wasn't exactly a fairy tale for Priscilla. She reportedly said that Elvis was a night owl who had to rent out restaurants just to dine out and make special arrangements with shop owners to keep shops open after store hours. She also reported that Elvis always used sleeping pills, even when they first lived together and that his use of prescription drugs increased over the years.

Life without Elvis Priscilla's marriage to Elvis Presley lasted only 6 years. They separated in 1972 and divorced in 1973. Priscilla, who was only in her late 20s at the time, began to work as a model and actress, starring in feature films and TV guest appearances.

When Elvis' father Vernon died in 1979, Priscilla took over the struggling estate and turned Graceland into a museum and source of income. She became the president and chairman of Elvis Presley Enterprises. Although never remarried, she has been involved romantically with several prominent men.

Today, Priscilla is a successful businesswoman with her own line of products including perfumes and bed linens. She is still known as Elvis' wife but she has definitely come into her own.

7) Elvis Presley Trivia:

• According to Steve Brown's book, Scandalous Freedom: The Radical Nature of the Gospel, Elvis gave a concert and, at its conclusion, a woman came forward with a crown resting on a plush pillow. She lifted the crown to Elvis and shouted, "You're the King!" "No, honey," he said, "I'm not the King. Christ is the King. I'm just a singer".

8) Editor’s Notes & Fun Stuff:

Some humour to put a smile on your face!

Some Jobs Are Just No Pun!

These are really cute! Enjoy -- and no groaning allowed!

My first job was working in an Orange Juice factory, but I got canned. I couldn't concentrate.

Then I worked in the woods as a Lumberjack, but I just couldn't hack it, so they gave me the axe.

After that, I tried to be a Tailor, but I wasn't suited for it - mainly because it was a sew-sew job.

Next, I tried working in a Muffler Factory, but that was too exhausting.

Then, I tried to be a Chef - figured it would add a little spice to my life, but I just didn't have the thyme.

I attempted to be a Deli Worker, but any way I sliced it, I couldn't cut the mustard.

I studied a long time to become a Doctor, but I didn't have any patience.

Next, was a job in a Shoe Factory. I tried but I couldn't fit in. I became depressed and soulful.

Then there was the Professional Fisherman job. But I discovered that I couldn't live on my net income.

I managed to get a job working for a Pool Maintenance Company, but the work was just too draining.

So then I got a job in a Workout Center, but they said I wasn't fit for the job.

After many years of trying to find steady work, I finally got a job as an Historian - until I realized there was no future in it.

My last job was working in Starbucks, but I had to quit because it was always the same old grind.
