2) Elvis Presley Forever:
All Shook Up With Elvis Collectibles? Know How Items Are Valued
A History
Elvis Presley collectibles and memorabilia items are among the hottest retro or vintage novelties around today. Elvis collectibles trace back to the 1950's when he was hitting the music charts with several number one singles. A certain Colonel Parker is said to be the one responsible for starting Elvis Presley Enterprises Incorporated, a company that has made a bonanza out of Elvis' tremendous popularity.
Maintaining High Market Value
Well, cashing in on Elvis Presley's celebrity status by putting his name and image on every conceivable object from mugs, clothing, board games, to dolls started a frenzy that to this day has kept on growing. Elvis collectibles are estimated to command a market that can easily be in excess of a billion dollars. And this market doesn't even include Elvis' albums.
As a general rule, the items that were originally produced in the 1950's command the best prices on the collectibles market; and are considered to be profitable investments as their value increases over the passage of time. But apart from the age of the item, other aspects of the items are also considered in determining the market price. The following are the other factors taken into account in determining prices.
Condition
The condition of the Elvis collectible will play a crucial role in determining the item's price. An item in mint condition, meaning the Elvis collectible is still in its original packaging and hasn't been taken out, will generally command the highest price. While collectible items that are worn out will have a smaller market value and might even be worthless.
Authenticity
In a world where intellectual property is constantly being duplicated and pirated, only authentic Elvis collectibles, the ones made by licensed manufacturers, are even given consideration on the market, imitation articles are worthless.
Rarity
The rarity of an Elvis collectible greatly enhances its price. A rare item means it is hard to find and exotic. Avid collectors and investors usually clamor for such items depending on the quality, of course.
Origin
The origin of an Elvis collectible also plays a key role in dictating the price. For instance, as the market is continuously flooded with items made in China, items made in the US are considered more valuable and command much higher prices; after all, Elvis Presley was an American.
If you are just starting to buy Elvis collectibles, always remember the factors listed above to ensure that the value of your collection will appreciate over time.

HELLO Beth
Thank you for your comments on our survey. Beth you are the first to express the feeling of Elvis’ warmth in his home. It is wonderful to hear the different feelings his fans have after visiting his home. I hope to get to Graceland myself one day. I live in Australia, it is a trip I plan to do. As for Elvis and his black leather, well, there is nothing more to say…. Just that he is soooooo handsomely gorgeous. Elvis had a very sexy smile; everything about him was just perfect. I believe once Elvis is in your heart, he will be in our life and in the younger generation always. Elvis will never be forgotten.

Dark Moon
This new feature of our ezine is for karaoke superstars & the fans that just like to sing-along with the King.
LYRICS:
Dark moon, way up high up in the sky
Oh, tell me why, oh tell me why
You`ve lost your splendor
Dark moon, what is the cause your life withdraws
Is it because, is it because I`ve lost my love
Mortals have dreams of love`s perfect schemes
But they don`t realize, their love can sometimes bring the
Dark moon, way up high up in the sky
Oh, tell me why, oh tell me why
You`ve lost your splendor
Dark moon, what is the cause your life withdraws
Is it because, is it because I`ve lost my love

5) About Elvis Presley & other Legends:
If I Can Dream
Elvis, 1968
The song "If I Can Dream", made famous by Elvis Presley, was a large part of his foray into gospel music. He used his rock and roll style and appeal to bring messages with meaning to him to his fans. Singing these types of songs, with a popular ballad-like resonance, helped him incorporate several gospel hits to his repertoire. Among all of his songs, he had a love for gospel, as he considered himself deeply religious. This song in particular, was one of his personal favorites.
History
Songwriter W. Earl Brown was asked to write a song to replace "I'll Be Home For Christmas" as the grand finale on NBC's "Elvis" (June 20-23, 1968). He wrote "If I Can Dream," and when Elvis heard it he proclaimed "I'm never going to sing another song I don't believe in. I'm never going to make another picture I don't believe in."
Elvis would sing "If I Can Dream" from his heart. Yet, the band-related errors prevented the first take from becoming the master. It was one of his dearest songs.
"If I Can Dream" recorded June 23, 1968, was allegedly lip-synched by Elvis on both shows. "Elvis -TV Special." It was then first released as single - If I Can Dream/Edge Of Reality - in November 1968. It peaked on Billboard's Hot 100 at #12 for 13 weeks, one million plus sales.

8) Editor’s Notes & Fun Stuff:
Some humour to put a smile on your face!
Be nice to woman drivers
I was riding to work yesterday when I observed a female driver
cut right in front of a pickup truck causing him to have to drive
on to the shoulder to avoid hitting her. This evidently angered
the driver enough that he hung his arm out his window and flipped
the woman off.
"Man, that guy is stupid" I thought to myself.
I ALWAYS smile nicely and wave in a sheepish manner whenever a
female does anything to me in traffic and here's why:
I drive 48 miles each way every day to work, that's 96 miles each
day. Of these, 16 miles each way is bumper-to-bumper. Most of the
bumper-to-bumper is on an 8 lane highway so if you just look at
the 7 lanes I am not in, that means I pass something like a new
car every 40 feet per lane.
That's 7 cars every 40 feet for 32 miles. That works out to be
982 cars every mile, or 31,424 cars. Even though the rest of the
32 miles is not bumper to bumper, I figure I pass at least
another 4000 cars. That brings the number to something like 36,
000 cars I pass every day.
Statistically, half of these are driven by females, that's 18,
000. In any given group of females, 1 in 28 has PMS. That's 642.
According to Cosmopolitan, 70% describe their love life as
dissatisfying or unrewarding. That's 449. According to the
National Institute of Health, 22% of all females have seriously
considered suicide or homicide. That's 98. And 34% describe men
as their biggest problem. That's 33.
According to the National Rifle Association 5% of all females
carry weapons and this number is increasing. That means that
EVERY SINGLE DAY, I drive past at least one female that has a
lousy love life, thinks men are her biggest problem, has
seriously considered suicide or homicide, has PMS, and is armed.
Flip one off?
I think not.
