1) Elvis Presley Quotes:
“I’ve never gotten over what they call stagefright. I go through it every show. I’m pretty concerned, I’m pretty much thinking about the show. I never get completely comfortable with it, and I don’t let the people around me get comfortable with it, in that I remind them that it’s a new crowd out there, it’s a new audience, and they haven’t seen us before. So it’s got to be like the first time we go on.”
-From a 1972 taped interview used in MGM’s documentary “Elvis on Tour”.
Lisa Marie Quotes
Having kids was the smartest thing I've ever done. They're little sponges who come into the world with a clean, shiny slate and such pureness. I'm interested in having more kids.
2) Elvis Presley & other Legends
Hound Dog
"Hound Dog" is a twelve-bar blues written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller and orignally recorded by Willa Mae "Big Mama" Thornton. Other early versions illustrate the differences among rhythm and blues, country, and rock and roll in the mid 1950s. The 1956 remake by Elvis Presley is the best known version. "Hound Dog" was also recorded by 5 country singers in 1953 alone, and over 26 times through 1964.
Big Mama Thornton version
The blues singer Big Mama Thornton's biggest hit was Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller's "Hound Dog," which she recorded in 1952. Johnny Otis produced the record, and he received a writing credit on all 6 of the 1953 pressings. This 1953 Peacock Records release (#1612) held the number one spot in the Billboard rhythm and blues charts for seven [citation needed] weeks.
Thornton gave this account of how the original was created to Ralph Gleason. “They were just a couple of kids, and they had this song written on the back of a paper bag.” She added a few interjections of her own, played around with the rhythm (some of the choruses have thirteen rather than twelve bars), and had the band bark and howl like hound dogs at the end of the song. In fact, she interacts constantly in a call and response fashion during a one minute long guitar "solo" by Pete Lewis . Her vocals include lines such as: "Aw, listen to that ole hound dog howl.. OOOOoooow", "Now wag your tail", Aw, get it, get it, get it". The other musicians on this recording are Devonia Williams (piano), Albert Winston (bass), and Leard Bell (drums). The only line that could be considered to have a sexual connotation is, "You ain't lookin' for a woman, all you lookin' for is a home", which is sung once near the end of the song.
Thornton's version is a slow, powerful country blues.

Hi Beth
Thank you for your comments on our survey, and sharing your memories with us. Elvis was an amazing man! He was a shy country boy with ambition. Reaching his goal, Elvis changed our world with his untouchable talent. It was a very sad day, when we lost Elvis; I don’t think anyone will ever forget that feeling that stung us, the day of Elvis’ passing. I know my world stood in disbelief, I cried for days. Elvis has had a huge effect on the world. Your message to Elvis is lovely; I really hope you and your mom have a lovely birthday.

Hello Joyce
Thank you for your comments on our survey. Elvis will always be a large part of our life; he has touched so many through his music, looks, personality & generosity. He didn’t have just 1 good quality. Elvis Presley was top of rank “Perfect”! I loved Elvis in any of his white outfits, as for his eyes…. Wow, they were so caring, loving and sincere. His eyes often put light in my life. His eyes showed who he was, a very warm gentle nature with an unmatchable exterior. Joyce, I also hope to visit his home, but I like your chances better than mine. Living in Australia, I really don’t think I will get the chance, but I’m not going to stop trying. Don’t give up on your dream Joyce. Take care.

4) Favourite Elvis song Lyrics for
“Charro”
This new feature of our ezine is for karaoke superstars & the fans that just like to sing-along with the King.
With eyes that hide the man within
You see behind the eyes of, other men
You`ve lived and died and come to life again
And now you stand alone at the crossroads of your mind
You`ve left your yesterdays behind..
But which road leads you to tomorrow?
Charro...
You`ve turned your back on yesterday
Betrayed a man who swore he`d make you pay
For when you left you took his pride away
You know he`ll never let you break away so easily
You`ll have to fight, before you`re free
But how much more time can you borrow?
Charro...
Now in a single moment your past grows dim
One thought goes racing across your mind
You ride to meet the woman you stole from him
Oh no!...Charro don`t go!...
Charro don`t go!!...
There`s something hanging, in the wind
Your past is catching up and closing in
You`ve been halfway to hell and back again
And now you laugh in the devil`s face
with your last breath...
You`ll run a race with life and death...
But will you live to see tomorrow?
Charro...
5) Elvis’ Early Stage Days :
American children see standing before them this stunning guy who is over six foot tall, his hair greasy and long, with blue eyes and a curling, self-mocking lip. He comes on stage in a casual and relaxed manner, as if he’s always had the spotlight, owning the stage.
He picks up his guitar and lightly strums it, pretending to play. Elvis sees his audience, he grins at them. That’s all it took. They were overcome by his charm.
No one knows were he picked up his confidence, charisma or his public ease. He was quite shy.
Back stage he might bite his fingernails, tap his foot on the floor, nervously fidget and tap his finger in an uncontrolled spasm—but once he steps on the stage a glow of confidence fills his body instantly, because he knows he can do it, he is in control.
When he leans toward the mike, when he caress it, there is a passion in his performance and he is willing to share how he feels. He is cool, with a dangerously sexy charm that will transport his audience briefly to heaven.
He is called Elvis Presley.

8) Editor’s Notes & Fun Stuff:
Some humour to put a smile on your face!
Some good life philosophies
* Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.
* Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
* Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
* Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.
* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
* Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
* Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.
* The second mouse gets the cheese.
* When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
* Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.
* We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.
