1) Elvis Presley Quotes:
“A live concert to me is exciting because of all the electricity that is generated in the crowd and on stage. It’s my favorite part of the business - live concerts.” -Elvis at a press conference prior to his 1973 television special, “Elvis - Aloha from Hawaii, via Satellite”.
Lisa Marie Quotes
I remember him watching me through the crack of a door singing with a hairbrush. I was in front of his mirror. I think he wanted me to sing. He would get me on the table and make me sing sometimes or play the piano. He was very encouraging on that front.
Lisa Marie Presley
2) Elvis Presley & other Legends
On December 20, 1957, Presley received his draft notice for 2-year service with the United States Army. On March 24, 1958, he was inducted into the Army at the Memphis Draft Board.
Presley received no special treatment and was widely praised for not avoiding service or serving part time in easy domestic positions such as the Special Services. The media speculated on whether or not two years out of the limelight would damage to his career.
During his service, Elvis met Walter Alden, who was a sergeant and in charge of public relations. Years later Elvis would date Alden's daughter, Ginger.
Presley sailed to Europe on the USS General George M. Randall (AP-115) and served in Germany, attaining the rank of sergeant. He returned to the United States on March 2, 1960 and was honorably discharged on March 5th.
Elvis bought his mother a house in Memphis at 1034 Audubon. He lived there briefly before he moved to Graceland. In 1958 after Elvis was drafted and sent to Fort Hood in Texas Gladys and Vernon moved to the nearest town to the base, Killeen.
While in Texas Gladys became increasingly ill and died. Elvis and Vernon were saddened by her death.

3) This month’s top Fan Survey Responses:
|
Scott Reeves
From: United States
1. How and when did you first hear about Elvis Presley? : I was two years
old when he died, and the consequential media frenzy interested me as a
child.
2. What was it that got you hooked on Elvis? : Stage Presence...hands down
the best entertainer of all-time.
3. If Elvis were alive, what would you like to say to him or ask him? :
Elvis--you are an inspiration to generations, and while we love your
company...take some time for yourself and your family. Don't burn both
ends, and don't burn out trying to live up to the image! You don't have
to impress anyone--we know that you are only human.
4. WHICH is your favourite Elvis Presley song or movie? : I like them all;
my favorite is If I Can Dream.
5. WHY is it your favourite? : That song symbolizes Elvis in his prime,
and he used it to close the '68 Comeback. He dedicated a great deal of
time to prepare for that project (including trimming up and vocal tuning
to a piano)--and he absolutely NAILED it.
6. Who do you think Elvis loved most in his life, his greatest love? : As
far as an individual goes, I'd say Lisa Marie. Many would say his mother
or 'cilla (myself included 5 years ago), but after having a baby girl of
my own...there is no greater love than the love one has for their
children. It certainly equals any other.
On a broader scale, his fans. He so loved his fans that he gave his life
trying to maintain the image that he felt they deserved.
7. Where were you and what were you doing when you heard that Elvis had
died? : Probably potty training.
8. Why do you think Elvis still attracts new fans every year,
even long after his death? : Elvis' work never gets old...and his work is
so numerous and great. Any of his work that is new to an individual is
just that...it is new.
9. Do you collect Elvis music or memorabilia?
: Yes, Music, Movies, Posters,
Books, Ceramics, Figurines, Souveneir items
11. How would you rate our Elvis Presley Biography site?
: Very Good
12. Do you have any suggestions on how we can improve this site for

Suspicious Minds
This new feature of our ezine is for karaoke superstars & the fans that just like to sing-along with the King.
LYRIC:
We're caught in a trap
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much baby
Why can't you see
What you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?
We can't go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious minds
So, if an old friend I know
Drops by to say hello
Would I still see suspicion in your eyes?
Here we go again
Asking where I've been
You can't see these tears are real
I'm crying
We can't go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious minds
Oh let our love survive
Or dry the tears from your eyes
Let's don't let a good thing die
When honey, you know
I've never lied to you
Mmm yeah, yeah
5) Party Planner tips:
This new feature of our ezine is a bonus home entertaining guide for all you party animals.
Slumber Party Planning Tips
Planning a slumber party for your teens can be hard work but exciting, as soon as you get started with the right idea and know exactly what to do. Here are some helpful hints:
1. The slumber guest list. Talk with your teenager who she wants to invite for her slumber party, taking into consideration the size of your home and more importantly, the size of her bedroom or their sleeping area.
2. The slumber party invitation. Help your teenager think what kind of party she wants; help her decide on a theme. You both can check out the internet on party themes and suggestions. After she has made up her mind, then lend a hand with the invitations, making certain that it goes with her theme.
3. Prepare the sleeping quarters. Make sure that there are enough sleeping bags or mattresses on the floor with clean sheets for all the guests and do make certain that each is very comfortable. Provide lots of blankets, pillows and stuffed animals (for them to hug at night).
Place on top of each a set of bath essentials (towel, soap, shampoo, cologne, etc.) all put together in a pretty basket. This, the guest can take home as give-aways.
Provide lots of fashion and gossip magazines and board games such as pictionary, millionaire’s game or scrabble as well.
You can also provide each guest with a cute bedroom sleeper and have them take these home as party give-aways as well.
4. Prepare the bathroom. Make sure to clean it well and arrange it in a way that it is pleasing to the eyes of teens. Create a mini spa effect with lots of scented candles and potpourri, beauty magazines, body and facial scrubs and sprinkle the floor with rose petals.
Make sure to provide lots of extra rolls of toilet paper, too.
5. Prepare the living room. Turn your living room into a mini theater. Rent horror DVD’s and place large throw pillows on the floor for additional seating. Cover the windows with black paper and close the blinds to make the room appear as dark as possible.
Serve lots of popcorn, chips and dip with cold canned cola for an evening of horror movie showing.
6. Plan breakfast. The following morning, serve the tired teens breakfast in the yard; lots of orange juice, cereals, bread, fruits, hot cakes, eggs and bacon.
7. Watch them enjoy and congratulate yourself and your teenager for a successful slumber party!

8) Editor’s Notes & Fun Stuff:
Some humour to put a smile on your face!
I have always rather enjoyed this old chestnut....
Who Wears the Pants?
There were three guys talking in the pub. Two of them
were talking about the amount of control they had over
their wives, while the third remained quiet.
After a while one of the first two turned to the third
and said, "Well, what about you, what sort of control do
you have over your wife?"
The third fellow said, "I'll tell you -- just the other
night my wife came to me on her hands and knees."
The first two guys were amazed. "Wow! What happened
then?" they asked.
The third man took a healthy swallow of his beer, sighed
and uttered, "She said, 'Get out from under the bed and
fight like a man.'"
