Adversity is sometimes hard upon a man; but for one man who can stand prosperity, there are a hundred that will stand adversity. Elvis Presley

After a hard day of basic training, you could eat a rattlesnake. Elvis Presley

Lisa Marie Quotes

Being Elvis Presley's daughter is a whole lot of pressure. It's been a constant burden in my life. Lisa Marie Presley

How many people have a family grave in the backyard? I'm sure I'll end up there, or I'll shrink my head and put it in a glass box in the living room. I'll get more tourists to Graceland that way. Lisa Marie Presley

2) Elvis Presley & other Legends

King Creole is a 1958 Elvis Presley film and soundtrack based on the 1952 Harold Robbins novel, A Stone for Danny Fisher.

It tells the story of a young, tough musician making his way in New Orleans.

It was adapted for the screen by Herbert Baker and directed by Michael Curtiz, famous for Casablanca. It was the fourth of Presley's films. Most critics call King Creole his best film and best performance.

Because the more serious and gritty film strayed from the pretty scenery/pretty girls plotless formula that the legions of Presley fans wanted, it was less than a smash at the box office.

The film also featured some of Presley's hardest rocking film song performances, including the title song, and "Hard-Headed Woman" written by Claude Demetrius.

The song "Trouble", a performance that alluded to Muddy Waters and Bo Diddley, was written by songwriting team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Presley used "Trouble" in his tremendously successful December 3, 1968 television comeback special.

"Hard Headed Woman" was the soundtrack's biggest hit, going to No. 1 on Billboard magazine pop chart.

"Trouble" was also recorded by Glenn Danzig, frontman for the Misfits, Samhain and Danzig, and appears on the album Thrall: Demonsweatlive and as a demo recording on the Final Descent re-release.

This new feature of our ezine is for karaoke superstars & the fans that just like to sing-along with the King.

LYRICS:

Well children by and by when the morning comes
All the saints of God together they come
We will tell the story how the Lord will come
And we`ll understand him better by and by

Trials dark on every hand and we cannot understand
All the ways God will lead us
To the blessed promised land
He will guide us with his eye
And we`ll follow till we die
And we`ll understand him better by and by

Well children by and by when the morning comes
All the saints of God together they come
We will tell the story how the Lord will come
And we`ll understand him better by and by

Temptation`s hidden snares often take the sun away
And our hearts are made to bleed
For some thoughtless word or deed
And we wonder why the test when we try to do our best
But we`ll understand it better by and by

Well children by and by when the morning comes
All the saints of God together they come
We will tell the story how the Lord will come
And we`ll understand him better by and by
And we`ll understand him better by and by

Elvis Presley's Birthplace Revisited

Tupelo.

An amazing and considered to be the largest city in Mississippi with a population of nearly 31, 000, a land area of 132.456 sq. kilometers, and 160 miles away from the states capital. The birthplace of the worlds King of Rock and Roll; Elvis Presley.

Just as this humble town shares the many wonders of its history, Elvis has quite dignified it more as he brought honor and prestige to this once dirt-poor area.

Originally known as Gum Pond due to its abundant growth of tupelo trees locally known as sweetgum, Tupelo has witnessed the birth and early childhood years of one of the worlds famous celebrity icons.

Elvis Presley's birthplace seen the development of this young boy, who at an early age had already developed his talent in singing as he performed his first public performance in a singing contest at the Mississippi-Alabama Fair and Dairy Show. He sang Red Foleys Old Shep.

During Elvis time, Tupelo was then considered as one of the most poverty-stricken places in Mississippi. Although Elvis's family lived above the poverty line, still, his family experienced the hardships.

It was during those times that Tupelos unemployment rate was 25% and the average annual rate of wages was just $1,368.

Today, Tupelo is now famous as it is recognized as Elvis Presley's birthplace. Tupelo is no longer a symbol of poverty during the era of the Great Depression but is now an epitome of Elvis's childhood years.

Hence, various infrastructures were built in Elvis Presley's birthplace which demonstrated the life and history of the King of Rock and Roll. In Tupelo, you can see the 350-pound statue of Elvis Presley at 13. Made of bronze, this statue stands majestically.

Experts say that the Elvis Presley Memorial Foundation, spearheaded by Henry Dodge, decided to reflect a 13-year old Elvis Presley because this was the age when he left Tupelo and went to Memphis. As they say, Elvis's most precious 13 years of life had been built in Tupelo and nobody can take that fact away from them.

You can also find a remarkable museum which features most of Elvis's memorabilia. This museum tells more on Elvis's 13 years in his birthplace.

Indeed, with a history as rich and as famous as that of Elvis Presley's, Tupelo will forever be Elvis Presley's birthplace; a fact that nobody can erase.

7) Elvis Presley Trivia:

In a bizarre footnote to the phenomenon, a large portrait of Elvis was seen in Iraq in June 2004, along with portraits of prominent Islamic figures.

Former bass back-up singer J.D. Sumner was one of the pallbearers at Elvis' burial service in 1977. He claims that Elvis' body was in the casket.

There is an official Elvis Sighting Society which is based at the Newport Restaurant in the Westboro section of Ottawa, Ontario. Restaurant Owner Moe Atallah is one of the founders of the group.
