1) Elvis Presley Quotes:
-From a 1972 taped interview used in MGM’s documentary “Elvis on Tour”.
“Man, I was tame compared to what they do now. Are you kidding? I didn’t do anything but just jiggle.”
-famous quote by Elvis from the press conference prior to his record-breaking Madison Square Garden shows in New York City, 1972.
“...the image is one thing and the human being is another...it’s very hard to live up to an image.”
Lisa Marie Quotes
I really went back through a lot of the dark corridors of my life in this. I wanted people to know who I am based on my music, not on what they read in the tabloids.
Lisa Marie Presley
I remember him watching me through the crack of a door singing with a hairbrush. I was in front of his mirror. I think he wanted me to sing. He would get me on the table and make me sing sometimes or play the piano. He was very encouraging on that front.

2) Elvis Presley & other Legends
Tickle Me is a 1965 western comedy-musical starring Elvis Presley.
Elvis plays a buckeroo at a dude ranch in Tickle Me, which co-starred Jocelyn Lane, Jack Mullaney and Julie Adams. Elvis tickles the ladies fancies.
Primary cast
• Elvis Presley : Lonnie Beale
• Julie Adams : Vera Radford
• Jocelyn Lane : Pamela Meritt
• Jack Mullaney : Stanley Potter
• Merry Anders : Estelle Penfield
• Connie Gilchrist : Hilda
• Edward Faulkner : Brad Bentley
• Allison Hayes : Mabel
Soundtrack
The soundtrack of Tickle Me is often cited as evidence of how Presley's films became assembly-line, low-budget affairs by the mid-1960s. The budget for the film did not allow for the commissioning of original songs, so instead the soundtrack was created from previously released non-film recordings, some dating back to 1960, and including songs with guitar work by Hank Garland whose career had ended in 1961 following an automobile accident. To coincide with the movie's debut, an EP Record was brought out containing five of the nine songs from the soundtrack. (In Europe, a full album was released).

4) Favourite Elvis song Lyrics for
Bridge Over Troubled Water
This new feature of our ezine is for karaoke superstars & the fans that just like to sing-along with the King.
LYRICS:
When you're weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes I will dry them all
I'm on your site, oh, When times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water,
I will lay me down,
Oh, like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
When you're down and out, when you're on the streets
When evening falls so hard, I will comfort you
I'll take your part when the darkness falls and pain is all around
Yes, like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Oh, like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Sail on, silver girl, sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
Oh, if you need a friend,
I'm sailing right behind
Yes, like a bridge over troubled water
I, I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will easy your mind
5) Elvis Presley Forever:
Elvis and His Album Collection
Elvis Presley Enterprises and Graceland have both catalogued The Kings record collection with over 1000 singles and albums that fill up a list of 24 pages.
When he was alive, Elvis Presley loved listening to opera stars such as Enrico Caruso and Mario Lanza. However, there is only one Lanza recording in Elvis' collection. The record is black rhythm and blues and a bit of black and white gospel.
For the fans benefit, Elvis Presley Enterprises has catalogued the recording collection by title and alphabetically arranged it based on the last name of the artists. The exact number for every category may not be available instantly though. This is because a lot of the solo and group artists who started out as gospel singers have crossed over into other genres such as rhythm, blues and pop.
Friends Know Best
However, Elvis friends commented that they had no need for the list in order for them to know that his favorites were gospel recordings simply because this is what he loved to play to them. He preferred close harmony above all.
Elvis favorite groups included the Harmonizing Four and Golden Gate, Jimmy Hones, Mahalia Jackson and Jake Hess (who later formed the Imperials.) That close harmony was what made him a fan of The Platters and Ink Spots. He also favored love songs.
In his album collection, rock bands are quite rare. There were four albums by the Beatles and albums from the Turtles and Chicago but Elvis preferred soloists over groups.
Woman Lover
There are few female singers in Elvis Presley's album collection but his friends claimed that his favorites were Anne Murray because she had a distinctive and clear voice, Vicki Carr, Della Reese, Jackson, Bobbie Gentry, Dionne Warwick, Leslie Uggams, the Andrews Sisters, the McGuire Sisters, Tim Yuro and the Sweet Inspirations, who were once his back-up group.
Elvis was a balladeer and a rocker but he wasn't much of a jazz fan but he owned a Duke Ellington album in his collection. There are classical music from Beethoven, Brahms and Mozart.
It's interesting to know that an artist who has influenced contemporary artists was also influenced by artists of his own time. He was also influenced by those who came before him. Art truly surpasses time and through this Elvis Presley album collection, we got into the inner workings of The Kings ears.

7) Elvis Presley Trivia:
• According to Steve Brown's book, Scandalous Freedom: The Radical Nature of the Gospel, Elvis gave a concert and, at its conclusion, a woman came forward with a crown resting on a plush pillow. She lifted the crown to Elvis and shouted, "You're the King!" "No, honey," he said, "I'm not the King. Christ is the King. I'm just a singer".
• His given middle name at birth was Aron however Aaron was placed on his gravestone by his father because Elvis preferred that biblical spelling and had legally changed it. Aaron is the official spelling used by his estate.
• Billboard's Joel Whitburn declared Presley the "#1 act of the Rock era", beating out The Beatles, based upon his dominance of Billboard's list of top 100 singles artists since 1955.

8) Editor’s Notes & Fun Stuff:
Some humour to put a smile on your face!
At Sunday School they were teaching how God created
everything, including human beings.
Little Johnny, a child in the kindergarten class,
seemed especially intent when they told him how
Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs.
Later in the week his mother noticed him lying
down as though he were ill, and said, "Johnny,
what's the matter?"
Little Johnny responded, "I have a pain in my
side. I think I'm going to have a wife."
